1. Patented Counterbalance
and Tensioning System
The internally mounted counterbalance
and tensioning system is the very heart of
our fast-acting door. The pulleys are
constructed of a high-impact, injection-
molded polymer and contain two
permanently sealed, lubricated ball bear-
ings. Pre-stretched, self-lubricating, steel
aircraft cables work in conjunction with
alloy 319 die-cast aluminum cable drums.
2. Virtually Indestructible Door Panel
The chemical, weather and puncture
resistant door blade material is tough.
Constructed of a double-layer of woven
polyester monofilament coated and
impregnated with PVC, it is not seamed,
spliced or joined. The fabric g-i-v-e-s on
contact and restores itself immediately.
Available in two standard colors (blue
and orange), the easy to clean fabric is
guaranteed for one (1) full year. Other
fabric colors are available upon request.
3. Protective Top Roll
The Model 570's door panel rolls up on an
11-gauge ASTM 513 steel tube. This heavy
duty tube is sized for maximum deflection
of .01 in./ft. (.078 mm/m) and maximum
overall deflection of .20 inches (5 mm).
A nylon brush serves as the top seal
to prevent airflow over the top roll. Front
cover or full roll cover is optional.
4. Self-Repairing Bottom Beam
Constructed of anodized aluminum
alloy, the Model 570's bottom beam
is built to last. The steel tensioning cable
is attached directly to the bottom beam,
allowing the self-repairing device to
operate smoothly and efficiently, without
being reset manually. Because the
bottom beam is under constant tension,
the door panel is always under control,
eliminating "door panel flyaway" and
dramatically increasing safety.
5. Safety Edge
Each door is equipped with a specially
designed pneumatic safety edge that
reverses the door on contact to the
fully open position. The bottom edge
provides a weather-tight seal in most
uneven surfaces and is excellent in
extreme temperature environments.
6. Heavy-Duty Side Frames
The 18-gauge self-supporting galvanized
steel side frames are standard and
feature hinged steel covers that protect
the patented balance and tension sys-
tem. Double nylon brushes located in
the side frames provide an excellent air
and weather seal around the sides of
the door. EPDM rubber seals are optional.
Steel frames painted in Silver, Blue or
Brown are standard, custom colors are
available. Aluminum, galvanized or stain-
less steel side frame covers are optional.
The easy-to-remove covers are low-pro-
file and won't corrode or rust
7. Control Panel
Low maintenance. High Reliability. The
Model 570 features the Albany Doors
Systems' self-diagnostic ACS 50 control
panel. Lightweight and requiring very
little space to wall mount, the ACS 50
provides a cycle counter and 26 LED
indicators for reliable operation and
diagnostics. The ACS 50 has screw-less
wiring connectors for easy installaton.
8. In-Line Photocells
In-line photocells prevent the door from
closing when an object is in the doorway.
9. Super-Fast Drive Unit
Designed exclusively for the high-speed
door market, our drive unit opens at 32"
(813 mm) or an optional 100" (2540 mm)
per second! This durable drive is
engineered with a self-inhibiting worm
gear and three-phase brake motor rated
for 1-1/2 hp single speed and 1-1/4 hp
two-speed. Each Model 570 comes
standard with two remote push buttons
or pull switches.
